Disgusting decision: Judge lets Muslim child rapist go free because he is “naive and immature”.
A Muslim man who raped a 13-year-old girl he had approached on Facebook has been spared a jail sentence after a judge heard he attended an Islamic faith school where he was taught that women are worthless. Adil Rashid, 18, claimed he did not realise it was illegal to have sex with the girl because he was unaware of British laws due to his education. Yesterday, Judge Michael Stokes sentenced Rashid to a suspended sentence, saying, “Although chronologically you are 18 years old, it is clear from the reports that you are very naive and immature when it comes to sexual matters.”
Earlier, Nottingham Crown Court heard that such offences are usually punishable by a four to seven year prison sentence. However, the judge said that Rashid was “passive” and “unassertive” and a prison sentence could “do him more harm than good”. Rashid, who is from Birmingham, admitted having sex with the girl and said he was “seduced” by her after they met online. The pair initially exchanged messages on Facebook before texting and phoning each other over a two-month period.
They then met in Nottingham, where Rashid had booked a room at a Premier Inn. The girl told police they stayed at the hotel for two hours and had sex after Rashid went to the toilet and emerged with a condom.
